This quartz heat retainer is amazing, I'm using it with the SiC halo and SiC pearls. I've had it a few days and I've already turned my nail down 30 degrees, quite a significant effect I would say! It really does seem to project the coil's heat back up to the dish, or something along those lines, causing way less of a drop in temperature during the dab. Should've got it way sooner!
I bought the Quartz 5mm heat retainer to pair with the Sic nimbus and was greatly impressed. We noticed the dish retained the temperature for longer periods and helped transfer heat back to the dish faster after taking a massive dab. This replaces the thin titanium tension nut that holds the heating coil to the bottom of the dish. I preferred the thicker retainer to retain extra heat. I was skeptical at first but I’m glad I added this to my purchase. I can take way bigger dabs and have no trouble maintaining the heat.
