The Universal Heater™ is a radiant heater designed for contactless heating of most modern quartz.  It is meant to focus extra heat on the column to optimize heat balance.

Key Features:

Universal - Fits almost everything.

Adjustable Height - Mounted on an adjustable height base

Silent Running - Except the odd tink from expansion/contraction

Contactless - Heat without handling your hot glass or having it rest in metal

Designed for Modern Quartz - Balances heat on today's more complex designs for improved function

State of the Art Insulation - Surface temperatures greatly reduced vs previous models, coils etc.  While still hot, they are much safer, with the thinnest portions barely getting hot enough to boil water in most cases.

Standard Size:  42x50mm - Ideally tuned for ~70mm models (standard towers, XL slurpers), max dish s

XL: 50x70mm - Fits all but a few models, ideally tuned for ~90mm models

Quartz Tops:  Extends heating zone 20mm, raises heated zone, and makes the top better insulated.  The differences are minor, but they are improvements.

Heatup Time:  40 seconds to 8 minutes depending on set temp and model.  In most conditions, 2-5 minute heatup times can be expected.  The closer the walls of your quartz are to the walls, the faster it will heat.  The higher the set temp, the faster it will heat.

Running Temperatures:  ~800F is a safe minimum.  Most quartz will come out ready to use immediately, but needs a longer warmup.  1100 is the maximum recommended, heating most quartz in 2-3 minutes.  1500 is the max overclocked, but anything over 1100 will potentially reduce lifespan.

Warranty: 3 year warranty with 1 year prorated warranty on the heating element.  Wear parts are difficult to warranty, especially with a fixed time period.  If you want to overclock or be ahead of any potential replacements needed, refurbishment kits are $150.

220V Customers: Units and coils are usually in stock, but may take up to 8 weeks to process.  Message to confirm stock if needed.

3 year warranty on the full unit, with a 1-year warranty on the heating element. Service is available as long as D-Nail exists and some servicing can be done at home with simple tools.

    Universal heater v1.1

Posted by Michael Ostrowski on Jul 4th 2024

Wow such an amazing upgrade to dabbing. I'm an avid hash smoker roughly 2-3 grams a day and this saves me so much time in torching. Such an amazing piece of equipment and a great idea thanks guys!

    6-Months, 750-1000hrs, 5-Stars

TL;DR: Best heat method I know of. Works just like Day 1. 11/10 would recommend. Model: v1.0 Ceramic Core + Quartz Top Baseline Temp: 710F (coincidental but lmao) Quartzware: 25mm Round Btm + 9.6mm Shinju Pearl, Quartz Bubble Cap - It does the thing. Way better than however you were doing it before. More evenly heated than red-hot starts, gentler on nails than cold starts. Heater sans quartz top easily bests any torch. - The top is another giant leap. Heated vertical walls add tons vape surface (though maybe watch your boro caps). Reduced my baseline temp from 765F to 710F. - Reheats great at 1100F, but at 710F I torch reheats. You learn to match temp to dab size though, and I reheat way less overall. - Heat retention is excellent. I can hold a finger 2-3mm away indefinitely. Newest model spec'd even better. - Surprsingingly car travel-friendly. I bring it to family gatherings, etc in a work bag. - Materials are quality. Base is heavy, ie safe. Built with repair in mind. Paid for Dnail-quality and Dnail delivered. - Spec'd approx. 400W heatup, 200W idle. For comparison, my laptop charger is 240W. Been meaning to actually measure, but I ran it ~8hrs/day in winter and didn't notice the power bill. - It's silent. Following statement only for the ULTRA pedantic: Ever have elec baseboard heating? Unit will occaisonally "ting" like that on heatup but my damn wall clock ticks louder. I've added this solely to be objective and comprehensive--it's fkn silent. Constructive Thoughts (in no way diminishes 5-star rating) - Detachable cable would fix my only travel concern. Looks reasonable to DIY but I haven't yet spec'd a high-temp connector or anything. - Option for soft or semi-rigid case option--something akin to a guitar gig bag. - Vice- or t-style handle for height adjustment. Might be mechanically unfeasible though--I'll have to try some 3D prints. Conclusion: I won't judge your torch, but I will bring my heater to your sesh.

    Great Innovation!

Loving this device. The only problem I have is it is a fire hazard. If you put it on you can't leave its side because it emanates heat at least a foot away. There is need for refinement, but this product is new. Just need something to allow or make it cool. You really can't touch anything except the very bottom black part and the knob to raise it up and down. Can't even move the quartz top to adjust because you will burn yourself bad. Great product just needs some work.

    Love

Cons up front, it won’t fit all of your nails, it won’t fit all of your rigs, and it comes with some location restrictions (radiant heat). Those aside, I absolutely love it. With a decent height tower or slurper the heat is concentrated on the column (and your pillar). I’ve been keeping mine at 808, it does take about 8 minutes or so to get a good heat soak, but it sets in so much deeper than a torch. Temps dropping 30+ degrees on the drop and getting vapor into the bottom half of 300 on the Dab Rite. No, it will not replace your torch. But it will run a good daily setup, and you can break out the torch for big pieces or fun!

    Game Changer

Posted by blackskyselect on Jan 31st 2024

I've never had a 490 degree dab hit as hard as a 600 degree one with a torch would. Its slower and less portable but I haven't used a torch since I got this thing
